Sweet Avocado Smoothie with Love
When you are rushed for time and need a healthy boost to your day, a smoothie is the perfect companion. If it’s green, it’s even better. I love smoothies because I can drink them and get a full supplement of a daily serving of fruits and vegetables in one drink.
For those who don’t like vegetables, blending them is a great way to get your daily intake.
This Sweet Avocado with Love Smoothie is filled with the awesome goodness of avocados, spinach and bananas.
Here’s what I did to make this delicious drink..
Avocado’s are apart of the fruit family and they are high in healthy fats. It is known to have over 20 needed vitamins and minerals that are essential for healthy living. Avocado’s are one of my favorites. I typically eat a whole avocado with no problem and utilize them throughout my meal planning and food selections often. Do you like avocado’s? In order to keep the shelf life, I’ve found that putting them in the refrigerator helps them last up to a week and a half at the right temperature.
Spinach is so good for your body for many reasons. Growing up I thought spinach was disgusting. But Popeye made it look good. As an adult, I can’t get enough of this green, leafy vegetable. Whether blended, in a salad, on a burger, or sauteed, spinach is an awesome vegetable to add to your menu. Spinach does not last long, so be certain to consume it quickly. As with any green vegetable, raw is when you get the purest of its nutrients and the healthy benefits. If you like eating a RAW FOOD diet, check out my book, The Power of a Raw Food Diet.
Bananas are super delicious and filled with an abundance of nutrition. Packed with potassium and full of sweet flavor, the banana goes well in most smoothies. As an edible fruit, it’s actually considered a berry produced by several plants. In some countries, bananas are called plantains and used as a dessert ingredient. The Plantains are typically cooked and smothered with different flavoring to make it a delicious dessert. When the banana becomes ripe and at its sweet peak, you will typically see brown spots appear on the peel. Bananas only last about 3 or maybe 4 days before they become ripe. In order to preserve them for my smoothies, I slice them without the peel and freeze in a plastic bag for easy preparation later on.
